The Semi-State Cross Country Meet was held on Saturday at Huntington University. In an IHSAA no class sport, the New Haven Semi-State is one of 4 cross country semi-state locations in Indiana where runners across every class face off. In each semi-state the top 6 scoring teams and the top 10 individuals not advancing with a team, move on to the State Finals.

Following a school record breaking performance at Regionals, Braden Sweet needed to finish in the top 10 individuals to advance on to the State Finals. Racing in a highly competitive class of runners, Braden finished 16th overall in a time of 16:08. His performance was a solid effort, finishing as the 8th individual, and allowing him to advance to the State Finals. Braden will compete next Saturday in Terre Haute, also known as Cross Country Town USA, at the Laverne-Gibson State Course at 3:00. There will be a live stream of the race, courtesy of the IHSAA.
