Southwood’s Varsity Baseball team completed a triple header after the Junior Varsity played two games against visiting Madison-Grant. It was a high scoring affair despite a light breeze blowing in. The two teams combined for 5 home runs on the day. Leading the way for Southwood was Gabe Lloyd going 3 for 4 with two home runs, a base hit, and a walk. He had 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Tristin Hayslett and Carson Rich both had two hit days, collecting a pair of singles each. Logan Barley did some yard work of his own, cracking his second home run of the season in the first inning. Connor Rich and Cam Ball both added base hits, and Connor Rich led the team with 4 RBIs. Knight pitchers struggled early, allowing 10 runs (9 earned) through 3 innings, but Tristin Hayslett came on and provided a solid outing through the next three innings allowing 3 runs on 3 hits while striking out 6 and walking 1. The Knights will be back in action on Monday hosting another cross county TRC foe in Manchester at 5 pm.
