The Lady Knight Netters followed State Road 13 north to Syracuse, Indiana to play in the Wawasee Super Duals. The winless Knights were in much need of a win and confidence for the players. We got both and more as the Knights defeated all 3 opponents en route to the 2018 Wawasee Super Duals championship!

#1 singles player Drue Gentry played very well and was undefeated on the day with a 6-0,6-3 win over Columbia City, a 6-1,6-0 win over Prairie Heights, and an impressive 7-5, 6-1 win over Wawasee.

Allison Steele moved up to #2 singles for the day and went just 1-2 despite showing improvement and playing well. She lost to Columbia city 3-6,4-6 in a good match, defeated Prairie Heights 6-0,6-1, and lost to Wawasee 2-6,1-6.

At #3 singles, Makayla Murphy went 0-2 while Haleigh Snyder went 1-0. Haleigh defeated Prairie Heights 6-3, 6-1. Makayla lost to Columbia City 1-6,0-6 and Wawasee 1-6,2-6 in her first ever varsity matches.

The #1 doubles tandem of Emily Gwillim and Kyrstin Gouveia went undefeated on the day as the beat Columbia City 6-4, 6-1, beat Prairie Heights 6-0,6-0, and had a big 7-5,7-5 win over Wawasee.

At #2 doubles, Hannah Miller and Makenna Norman defeated Prairie Heights 6-0,6-1. The pair of Haleigh Snyder and Courtney Andrick started the day with a win over Columbia City 6-4,6-1. The two were put back together for the match against Wawasee and came up with a big 3 set victory to clinch the championship for the Knights by the scores of 6-3,2-6,10-5. 10 point super tie-breakers were used instead of full third sets all day.

The Knights are now 3-3 on the season and return to action Monday evening as they host Wabash.
