Five RBI Day For MaKenna Pace Seals The Deal In Southwood Knights Varsity’s Victory Over Bluffton

MaKenna Pace drove in five on three hits to lead Southwood past Bluffton 16-10 on Friday. Pace drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the second, and a home run in the seventh.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Southwood collected 12 hits and Bluffton eight in the high-scoring affair
In the first inning, Southwood got their offense started. They scored one run when Pace singled.
Bluffton evened things up at seven in the bottom of the third inning. H. Onuegbu drove in two when she singled.
After Southwood scored four runs in the top of the second, Bluffton answered with four of their own. Southwood scored when Pace singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs and Tabitha Thomas doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs. Bluffton then answered when K. Moore homered on a 3-2 count, scoring four runs.
Southwood pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, Southwood scored two runs on different errors.
Southwood notched four runs in the seventh inning. Kassity Simpson and Pace all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Pace got the win for Southwood. She went five innings, allowing ten runs on five hits and striking out three. Makenlie Lambert threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Lambert recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Southwood.
Moore took the loss for Bluffton. She allowed six hits and 11 runs over five innings, striking out three.
Southwood tallied two home runs on the day. Keagan Simpson went yard in the sixth inning. Pace went deep in the seventh inning.
Southwood collected 12 hits on the day. Simpson, Pace, Maddie Turner, and Simpson all managed multiple hits for Southwood. Pace and Simpson each collected three hits to lead Southwood.
Onuegbu led Bluffton with three hits in five at bats.
