The Southwood Knights competed in the West Noble Invitational on Saturday. Plodding across a slow course on a hot, humid day, the team finished 20th. The highlight of the meet was Braden Sweet who took charge of the race heading into mile 2. With Homestead and Columbia City riding on his heels, he continued to pull away taking complete control over the last 400 meters to finish with a commanding win in 16:21.
Also competing for the Knights in the field of 384 runners were Jacob Marlow, Nathan Lehner, Weslee Nelson, Brayden Smith, Landon Topliff, Devin Danzy, and Skylar Amos. The Knights head to the New Haven Invitational this Saturday.
