The Southwood Freshman put up a disappointing performance on the floor Wednesday night at Mississinewa. The Knights saw pressure from the opening tip, and handled it poorly most of the game. Many possessions saw the Knights try to dribble between several Indian defenders, hold the ball and wait for the defenders to come, or throw lob passes over their 1-3-1 trap. None of these worked effectively. When Southwood was able to give the ball up early in the offense, move it quickly, and use their dribble only when they had to they found a few wide open looks. In the second half, the Knights showed slight improvement in handling the pressure, but many long rebounds with only one or two people getting back on defense led to Indian layups on nearly every trip. Following wins in their previous two games, this was an incredibly frustrating and confusing loss. The Knights will look to close their season out strong next week against Bluffton and Eastbrook.
